Description:
The Thermal baths of the Incas, or Pultumarca in the Quechua language, in the North Eastern Andes of Peru are reputed for their medicinal hot springs. Chlorine and sulfur waters spring from sources at 70ºC (158ºF) and are reputed to cure bone and nervous system conditions. Facilities include individual pools, bungalows, hotels, swimming pools and saunas. The stone pool where Inca Atahualpa used to bathe is open to visitors.
